Quran Gate (Persian: دروازه قرآن Darvāzeh Quran) is a historic gate in the north of Shiraz, Iran.
It is located at the northeastern entrance of the city, on the way to Marvdasht and Isfahan, between Baba Kouhi and Chehel Maqam Mountains near Allah-O-Akbar Gorge.
Quran Gate or Gate of Koran was constructed at the beginning of the road from Shiraz to Isfahan in the King of Azed uh-Doleh Deilami. There is a room at the top of this gate in which a Quran weighing about 50 kilogram was to protect the passengers during their. it is now being kept in Pars Museum.
Gate of Qur’an was once reconstructed during the king of Karim Khan and once more in 1948. The current facing of Qur’an Gate is the result of craftsmanship of Hossein Igar in the recent reconstruction.
